If you have extra keycaps and switches this one is an excellent barebone kit at excellent price. It does comes with USB C port not micro USB, so that’s a relief. All this board needs is some tape and foam mod, also clip the stabs and do band-aid mod and it’s superb. It has a good heafty build, you will feel it’s weight. Bought the compact model for gaming and does have 1000 Hz polling rate. Perfect buy at this price.

I as looking for a TKL in the market that’s when I landed on this wonderful website with GMMK in the listing. This KB has been in the market for a while and is one of the earliest hot swap models. The barebones kit I received was the recent one which has some of the issues like dampening under keyboard and overall problem of keyswitches coming loose while removing the keycaps etc has been addressed to some extent. This iteration came with a bit of factory lubed for the some of the stabs. It now has some added weights at the bottom plastic base to give it some additional heft and comes with a very thin dampening foam from factory to address the hollow echo issue that were in the past. About the rgb effect, there are few onboard presets for the effects and there can be some more customised via the GMMK software.
There is still some issue though such as the keyswitches at some place do pop out while removing the keycaps especially if the caps are a tight fit and the SMD LEDs though they are quite bright they tend to get too diffused with the switches and caps in place. Since I’m not a RGB fan, it still looks fine to me. Also the software that GMMK provides has really nothing to write about. Overall I’m quite satisfied since I got this for its USP being hot-swappable which is great and a TKL model that saves me space on my desk.
